Gear flow transmitters belong to a type of positive displacement flow transmitters. They are transmitters for high-precision measurement of volumetric flow. As the medium flows, the gears mesh and rotate. Under the action of fluid flow, a pressure difference is formed between the inlet and outlet ends of the meter. Without the need for power supply, a pair of gears rotate freely, with the cavities between the gears filled with liquid, which is discharged as the gears rotate. By measuring the number of gear rotations, the flow rate of the liquid passing through the meter can be known.

The rotational speed of the circular gear transmitter is detected by the sensing coil in the signal amplifier mounted on the case. The signal amplifier does not come into contact with the measured medium. The pulse signal is sent to the unit conversion and flow integration circuit to obtain and display the cumulative flow value. At the same time, the pulse signal is also sent to the frequency-to-current conversion circuit, which converts the pulse signal into an analog current to indicate the instantaneous flow value. The circular gear transmitter has high machining accuracy and is precisely installed. The rotation of the gear is scanned non-contact, with each tooth generating a pulse, resulting in very high resolution. The cylindrical gear transmitter can measure very small flow rates and dispense small volumes of liquid.

Calculation formula:

  The K factor (flow coefficient) of a gear flowmeter precisely defines the number of pulses corresponding to each liter within a unit flow rate.
  Apply the following formula: Q = F × 60 / K
  Q = Instantaneous Flow Rate, liters per minute
  F = Output pulse frequency (Hz)
  K = Coefficient of gear flowmeter (pulses/minute)
