Oval Gear Flow Meter
Oval gear flowmeters are positive displacement measuring instruments used for continuous or intermittent measurement and control of liquid flow in pipelines. They have many advantages, such as a wide range of measurement, high accuracy, low pressure loss, strong viscosity adaptability, the ability to measure high-temperature and high-viscosity liquids, convenient calibration, and easy installation. They are suitable for flow measurement in departments such as petroleum, chemical, chemical fiber, transportation, commerce, food, and medical and health. The LC series oval gear flowmeters are equipped with pointer and word wheel cumulative devices, which can directly display the cumulative flow of liquid passing through the pipeline on-site. By adding a signal transmission device to the counting mechanism and matching it with an electrical display instrument, remote centralized control of cumulative, quantitative, and instantaneous flow can be achieved. By installing a radiator or an oval gear with undercut teeth, high-temperature and high-viscosity liquids can be measured.

Structure and Working Principle
The oval gear flowmeter consists of a flow transmitter and a counting mechanism. When a radiator is installed between the transmitter and the counting mechanism, it forms a high-temperature type flowmeter. The transmitter is composed of a metering chamber housing a pair of oval gear rotors and a sealed coupling, while the counting mechanism includes a speed reduction mechanism, an adjustment mechanism, a counter, and a signal transmitter.
Inside the metering chamber, a pair of oval gears and a cover plate form a crescent-shaped cavity as the metering unit for flow. The oval gears are driven to rotate by the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the flowmeter, continuously metering the liquid through the crescent-shaped cavity and then delivering it to the outlet. The amount of liquid flowing through per revolution is four times that of the crescent-shaped cavity. The total number of rotations and the speed of rotation of the oval gears are transmitted to the counting mechanism or signal transmitter via a sealed coupling, allowing the total amount of liquid and the instantaneous flow rate passing through the pipeline to be known.
